As a Performing Arts Studio, we want to offer our students as many opportunities to Perform as possible.
This is why we have a dance recital every June for all of our classes to showcase the progress they have made and what they have been working on.
If you or someone you know is looking for groups to perform for any festivals or event, please contact us to let us know!
In addition to our annual dance recital…
In 2022, we started branching out. In July we had an intimate group perform at a home for people with Alzheimers Disease.
And…
In November we took a group of 20 dancers to Disneyland to perform down Main Street USA in their Holiday Parade!
AND we’re headed back there in October 2025! Details and more information are to come.
NASCAR 2023
That’s right! We had a group that performed at NASCAR at the Los Angeles Coliseum on Sunday, February 5th. The students had the opportunity to perform in front of hundreds of people and then spend the day with their families watching the races. Everyone had a great time and the students did and AMAZING job!!
2024 Performance Opportunities
April
We will be performing multiple times this year at the Inland Empire 66ers Baseball Games with a special Performance Troupe.
May
The Grove School in Redlands has asked us to return for their annual School Fair to perform for them in May. We will be taking our Actors to perform as well as our Performance Troupe. Our actors will be performing selections from dramanotebook.com as well as a few other scripts from the Studio vault.
June
We are celebrating our 50th anniversary this year by Dancing Through the Decades with our Annual Dance recital which will take place the weekend of June 22nd. Students have several opportunities to perform for their family and friends on stage.
August
We are producing our first, in a very long time, straight play which will be the production of Winnie the Pooh. This performance will take place at our local community theatre provider, Legendary Productions. Auditions will take place mid June and rehearsals will start in July. Some rehearsals will be held during the day when students are out of school and then on the weekends. ALL are welcome to audition. You do not have to be a student at Looking Glass to participate.
October
We planned on heading back to perform at Disneyland down Main Street USA. However, the organization that we go through, cancelled the event due to low enrollment from multiple students.
November
We had our Winter Showcase on Saturday, November 23rd at Citrus Valley HS. Students had 4-5 rehearsals outside of normal class per routine to lean and perfect their routine. This allows us to accomplish several different things:
Focus on technique in class instead of just learning a dance
Challenges the students to learn choreography quickly and be able to perform it on the spot. (Thus preparing them for things such as dance auditions)
Allows students in the class who are not able to participate in the Winter show, to not feel left out for not being able to perform.
We allow students to learn dance routines in genres that they may not be currently enrolled in. For example, we had students in our Tap routine that do not take tap class on a weekly basis.
We combine levels to keep the number of dances to a minimum and this also challenges the students who might be in the lower level to rise to the choreography of an upper level routine. For example, we combine beginner and intermediate dancers, and intermediate and advanced dancers.
Coming in 2025
Students will be headed back to the baseball field at the 66ers Stadium. And we will trying again to dance at Disneyland down Main Street in October.
We have also decided to participate this year in the Redlands Christmas Parade. We will be taking a group of performers to sing and dance to The Grinch Medley.
